The weather has finally taken a turn to the cooler side and for us that makes it a great time to add one more layer of clothing and step outside.
Clayton County has access to some pretty great walking trails. You've probably driven by them and may not give them much thought, but you should. Grab your family, friends, significant other and head out for some quality time together or hit the trail on your own (it's a great way to clear your mind).
So, where are all these great walking trails? Glad you asked.
1. Reynolds Nature Preserve in Morrow is located on a 146-acre preserve filled with rolling hills, spring fed ponds and towering trees. There are three miles of trails in multiple loops, so choose the length that works. It's so pretty there, you may end up wandering.
2. Morrow Pathway also located in Morrow connects different neighborhoods, goes behind City Hall, and follows alongside Jesters Creek.
3. Clayton County International Park in Jonesboro has been a film location and the site of the 1996 Olympic Beach Volleyball games. Inside the park there's a trail system that brings you through the woods and by a lake for a very picturesque walk.
4. Newman Wetlands Center in Hampton is a 32-acre wildlife habitat and wetlands trail. This is a great place to bring kids to see what animals you spot on your walk around the boardwalk.
