The holidays are upon us and there are lots of events happening. So grab your friends and family and go spread some cheer at these festivities.

1. Christmas Tree Lightings and Parades - Morrow and Jonesboro are both holding their festivities on December 2nd. Morrow's Christmas in the Park begins at 12:00 pm and will feature live concerts, Little General Train Rides, photos with Santa, an artist market and of course the lighting of the tree at 6 pm. Jonesboro's Christmas Parade and Lighting of the Trees begins at 5:00 pm with the parade down Main Street. After the parade head over to Lee Street Park for treats, photos with Santa and the lighting of the trees.

2. An 1862 Southern Christmas - Step back in time at Stately Oaks Plantation with the McCord family as they prepare for Christmas. Get a look inside at traditions of Christmas' past. Tours are offered on December 8 and 9 at 7:00 pm and begin every 20 minutes.

3. Yule Log Celebration - Spend an evening outdoors at Reynolds Nature Preserve filled with holiday cheer on December 8. Listen to music performed by a local school orchestra, and enjoy refreshments, face painting and ornament making. Then, follow a candlelit path through the woods to a bonfire where you'll find storyteller, Barry Mann, painting pictures of holidays past. The evening will be complete with children searching a wooded hillside for the fabled Yule Log.

4. Holiday performances at Spivey Hall - A Christmas Carol performed by Clayton State Theater, the annual holiday concerts by Spivey Hall Children's Choir, Christmas at Clayton State by Clayton State Choir, Orchestra and Chorale bring the holiday cheer to audiences in December.
