Alan Morrison, organ Christopher Martin, trumpet
Internationally acclaimed recitalist and recording artist Alan Morrison “puts all the right emphasis in all the right places” (Sequenza21.com) and has performed for regional and national conferences of the American Guild of Organists. In addition to holding The McGehee Family Organist Residency at Spivey Hall, he is head of the organ department at The Curtis Institute of Music, organ faculty at Westminster Choir College of Rider University, and college organist at Ursinus College.
Joining him is another Atlanta native, trumpeter Christopher Martin, whose “gleaming tone and firmly pointed yet expressively nuanced playing has provided innumerable memorable moments”; he is praised for his “expressive subtlety, astounding agility, and bold tempered tone” (The Classical Review). Having served in principal positions with the major orchestras of Philadelphia, Atlanta and Chicago, Martin is presently principal trumpet of the New York Philharmonic.
